At the turn of April and May this year, the EU Operational Programmes Management Section of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports issued the “Decision on the provision of a grant” for the project Connecting institutions in translational medicine and medicinal chemistry – TransMedChem.
The application prepared by the research team of the Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and the Faculty of Science of Palacký University Olomouc and its partner, the MedChemBio association of legal entities, was successful in the 17th call of priority axis 7.2 Tertiary Education, Research and Development of the Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness.
The project, launched in June this year, aims to create conditions for the transfer of expertise and experience between academic and commercial institutions engaged in research and development in medicinal chemistry and translational medicine, and for their integration into joint projects.
The project focuses on connecting the researchers of the Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine, which is being established within the Biomedreg project, with other scientific and research institutions, and on improving and strengthening their professional and language skills.
The project also targets future researchers among undergraduate and postgraduate students, with an emphasis on strengthening practical skills gained through placements in the Czech Republic and abroad and participation in specialist seminars, and on using professional English terminology in practice through specialist language courses.
The project also involves major research institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad, whose extensive experience in implementing modern technologies and managing research and development will be used to establish effective cooperation with the Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine.
The project is also part of the Integrated Urban Development Plan “Attractive and Competitive Olomouc”.
